Management Sanctuary Profile Management Sanctuary aims to help professional people get the most out of their lives by ensuring balance in the areas that matter - we take an efficient interactive approach to development. We believe you can't develop a person without understanding the individual and the context within which they work.

Management Sanctuary is about a different and engaging approach to organisation and management development. Whilst the management theory, models, tools and concepts may be familiar to others, the way in which they are brought into people's consciousness is not.

Our Fundamental development programmes are focused against a backdrop of five critically, interwoven themes - our pentagon: Business Confidence, Personal Wellbeing, Your Organisation, Personal Development, Behaviour and Skills.

Who we are
We are a team of like-minded individuals who share a belief that training and development is often not sufficiently focused on those aspects of an individual's development to make a REAL difference. We all share the views, passion and beliefs around what needs to change in management development.

Our experience of training and development over the last 15 years recognises the style and approach to training and development is very trainer-centred and typically content focused. Other organisations programmes generally cover a range of management theories and knowledge with little time planned into embedding skills and behaviour.

Our approach turns this on its head.

We provide access to key tools, possibly well-known models, which we have shaped to make them practical and usable everyday. For example, Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs is a well established model, however how does it practically apply to, for example, a night shift supervisor? Whilst the model provides a backdrop, the REAL benefit is getting people to talk and understand each other, to feel comfortable chatting about what they enjoy/frustrates them/makes them laugh, etc. When conversations like that happen in the real world it is very powerful.

Our Ethos
Our Ethos is "Learn It; Do It; Live It" which means that having the knowledge is one thing, knowing how to use it another. The real power lies in people weaving the new skill/behaviour into every aspect of their life, so that it becomes 'a way of life'; they literally live this new way.
The focus of our programmes.
  • Strips out knowledge and models to very practical tools, which people can actually use: LEARN IT!
  • We devote time and attention so people get to grips with the key behaviours and approaches that bring the tool to life: DO IT!
  • Then focus on refining and embedding the behaviour and confidence to rely on this new tool/behaviour when it matters most - back in the workplace: LIVE IT!
We are more about what people do rather than what they know, about how people actually interact with others and behave in the workplace and their life that adds value and gets results not about how much knowledge they have in their heads.

This is where Management Sanctuary lives, providing a different approach, where the focus is on embedding behaviour and skills that make a real tangible difference.
